CFTC Expands Clearing Designation for London Clearing House

Washington D.C. – The Commodity Futures Trading Commission has issued an amended Order permitting LCH.Clearnet Ltd (LCH) to clear financial futures and options traded on or subject to the rules of a U.S. designated contract market, derivatives transaction execution facility, or exempt board of trade. LCH currently clears over-the-counter interest rate swaps and commercial energy contracts pursuant to the Commission’s original order registering LCH as a derivatives clearing organization, dated October 29, 2001.
