I. Michael Greenberger to Head CFTC's Division
of Trading & Markets
Washington--The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has
announced the appointment of I. Michael Greenberger as Director of the
Division of Trading & Markets. Mr.�Greenberger comes to the
CFTC from the law firm of Shea & Gardner where he has practiced
since 1973. As a partner in the firm, Mr. Greenberger engaged in
complex trial and appellate litigation in administrative,
constitutional, commercial, government contracts, telecommunications,
intellectual property, international, and labor law. Mr. Greenberger
is expected to assume his position with the CFTC by the end of
September.
Mr. Greenberger received his A.B. degree with honors in Government from Lafayette College in 1967, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1970, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Law Review. He was law clerk to Judge Carl McGowan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia circuit from 1970 to 1971. Mr. Greenberger is a member of the Board of Governors of the District of Columbia Bar, as well as a director of several other non-profit organizations.
