CFTC Announces Appointment of Thomas J. Erickson as
Director, Office of Legislative & Intergovernmental
Affairs
Washington--The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has
announced the appointment of Thomas J. Erickson as Director, Office of
Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs, effective immediately.
For the past three months, Mr. Erickson has served as Counsel to CFTC
Chairperson Brooksley Born for Legislative & Intergovernmental
Affairs. Mr. Erickson came to the CFTC from the National Grain Trade
Council (NGTC) where he was Assistant to the President/Legal Counsel.
As Legal Counsel to the NGTC, Mr. Erickson represented the grain trade
and futures markets on matters of agricultural policy, futures
trading, international trade, grain quality, and tax issues. Prior to
joining the NGTC, Mr. Erickson was Legislative Assistant to United
States Senator Thomas A. Daschle.
Mr. Erickson received his B.A. degree in Government and International Affairs from Augustana College, Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1984 and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law in 1987. Mr. Erickson is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
