CFTC'S FINANCIAL PRODUCTS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
TO MEET ON NOVEMBER 13, 1997
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Financial Products
Advisory Committee (FPAC), chaired by CFTC Commissioner David D.
Spears, will hold a public meeting on Thursday, November 13, 1997,
from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The meeting of the CFTC's FPAC will be held
at the Commission's Washington D.C. headquarters, at Three
Lafayette Centre, 1155 21st Street N.W., in the Ground Level Hearing
Room (Room 1000).
The Committee is interested in hearing from FPAC members on measures
aimed at streamlining futures regulations. The agenda for the November
13, 1997, meeting includes a discussion of the following topics:
Futures-style margining of option premiums;
End-of-day order allocation for certain eligible participants;
Special execution procedures for futures and option orders for certain eligible participants; and
Investment of customer funds by firms and clearing organizations in
marketable investments other than those already permitted by
statute.
The FPAC was created by the CFTC for the purpose of advising the
Commission on issues concerning financial products and markets
regulated by the Commission. The membership of the FPAC consists of 27
individuals representing industry professionals, futures exchanges,
academics and market users.
