Linda J. Ferren Appointed Executive Director of CFTC

Washington--The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has announced the appointment of Linda J. Ferren as Executive Director. Ms. Ferren comes to the CFTC from the U.S. Courts for the District of Columbia Circuit where she has been the Circuit Executive since 1988. As the Circuit Executive, Ms. Ferren functions as the Chief Executive Officer of the federal courts in the District of Columbia Circuit overseeing non-judicial functions of the court system. Prior to joining the U.S. Courts, Ms. Ferren was the Director, Division of Research, Evaluation and Special Projects and the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Program for the D.C. Superior Court. Ms. Ferren is expected to assume her position with the CFTC in early January.

Ms. Ferren has also held positions at the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and in the Office of the Chairman, D.C. City Council.
