  CFTC MAKE ITS STRATEGIC PLAN AVAILABLE

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission) announced today the availability of its Strategic Plan -- "Vision and Strategies for the Future: Facing the Challenges of 1997 through 2002." This plan was submitted to the Congress and the Office of Management and Budget on September 30, 1997, as required by the Government Performance and Results Act.

The Commission views strategic planning as an on-going, dynamic process. As such, it invites interested parties to review this document and provide the Commission with any comments they deem appropriate. The Commission expects to review its strategic plan at least annually to determine if changes or modifications should be made.
