CFTC Extends Comment Period for Petition Submitted by the London Clearing House Limited
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission announced today that it has extended until September 23, 1998 the comment period on the petition submitted by the London Clearing House Limited (LCH) requesting an exemption pursuant to section 4(c) of the Commodity Exchange Act. LCH submitted its petition in connection with its proposed provision of clearing services for certain swap agreements. The Commission issued a notice requesting comments on the LCH petition on June 30, 1998 (63 FR 36657 (July 7, 1998)), with comments originally due by September 8, 1998.
Any person interested in submitting comments on the LCH petition should submit them by September 23, 1998 to Jean A.
