CFTC ANNOUNCES ROUNDTABLE ON TECHNOLOGY
ISSUES
Washington, D.C. -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission today announced that it will hold a Roundtable meeting to discuss technology issues in financial services markets on December 7, 1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Roundtable will be held in the first floor Hearing Room at the Commission's Washington office, Three Lafayette Center, 1155 21st Street, Washington, D.C., 20581.
The Roundtable discussion will be chaired by CFTC Chairman William J. Rainer and will address technological innovations in the financial services markets, which have become increasingly electronic in nature. At the Roundtable, the Chairman will announce the recent formation of the Commission's Technology Advisory Committee, which will assist the Commission in responding to these issues.
