CFTC’s Global Markets Advisory Committee to Meet January 12, 2005
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) will meet Wednesday, January 12, 2005, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., in the lobby-level Hearing Room, of theCommission’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, Three Lafayette Centre, 1155 21st Street, N.W.

According to CFTC Commissioner Walter L. Lukken, chairman of the GMAC, topics expected to be discussed at the meeting include:
- Developments regarding the currency regime of China, with presentations by officials of the U.S. Treasury Department and a representative of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange;
- Segregated/secured funds discussion lead by the GMAC Subcommittee on Bankruptcy; and,
- CFTC reauthorization, with updates by House and Senate staff.
