CFTC Announces Agenda for Upcoming Global Markets Advisory Committee Meeting
Washington, DC — The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC or Commission) announced today the full agenda for the upcoming CFTC Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC) public meeting. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at CFTC’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information regarding the meeting, view CFTC Press 6842-14. CFTC Acting Chairman Mark Wetjen is the sponsor of this advisory committee.
The meeting will include two panel discussions regarding the CFTC November 14, 2013 staff advisory related to cross-border guidance.
The first cross-border panel will consist of CFTC staff who will provide brief statements regarding the status of the Commission’s cross-border guidance and purpose of the November 14, 2013 staff advisory and advisories published thereafter. The second cross-border panel will include representatives from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Financial Conduct Authority, and the European Commission. This panel will provide brief comments on issues concerning the November 14 staff advisory and actions taken since then.
In addition to the panel discussions, there will be new GMAC member introductions.
The meeting is open to the public with seating on a first-come, first-served basis. The meeting will also be available via a listen-only conference call. Following the meeting, a recording will also be made available on the CFTC website.
