External Meetings: McDermott Will & Emery Energy Conference

Mr. Berkovitz participated by telephone from Washington DC in a panel discussion on the CFTC's Dodd-Frank rulemakings.  The panel discussion focused on the timetable for the issuance of proposed rules by CFTC, the team structure, and the process for public comments.  The panel discussed issues concerning the definitions of swap dealers and major swap participants, the definition of agricultural commodities and the treatment of agricultural swaps, position limits, clearing requirements, and the impact of Dodd-Frank requirements on market liquidity and hedging activities.
