Ann Wright is currently Director in the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, where she has served as Deputy Director since November, 2014.  In her role, she serves as the chief advisor to the Chairman of the CFTC on matters before the U.S. Congress and serves as the Commission’s official liaison with Members of Congress, federal agencies, and the Administration.

Prior to joining the CFTC, Ann served under Secretary Tom Vilsack at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as Deputy Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs and as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of Congressional Relations.  In addition to her work in the Executive Branch, Ann has over 10 years of experience in the U.S. Senate, including time working for former Majority Leader Harry Reid on issues before the Senate Agriculture Committee.  Her combined experience in government has given her the opportunity to lead in various capacities and to gain expertise and insight into the relationship between the Legislative and Executive Branches of government.

Ann is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Political Science.
