Event: Advisory Committee Meetings

Global Markets Advisory Committee Meeting July 21, 1999

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC), chaired by CFTC Commissioner Barbara P. Holum, will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, July 21, 1999, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Commission's Washington, D.C. headquarters, in the first floor hearing room (Room 1000), Three Lafayette Centre, 1155 21st Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20581.

The following topics will be discussed at the GMAC meeting:

  • Proposals for regulatory relief on new contract market designations and rule changes,
  • Report of the Ad Hoc Committee on Regulatory Parity and discussion of proposed resolutions, and
  • IOSCO update.

The GMAC was created by the CFTC for the purpose of advising the Commission on issues concerning the competitiveness of U.S. markets and U.S. firms engaged in global business. The membership of the GMAC consists of 30 individuals representing industry professionals, futures exchanges and market users.
