CFTC to Hold Open Meeting to Consider the Trading of Contracts Based on Motion Picture Box Office Receipts and Gather Views of Interested Parties
Washington, DC – The United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold a public meeting on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, to consider issues related to the trading of futures and binary options based on motion picture box office receipts. The Commission will hear presentations by panels of invited witnesses representing Media Derivatives Exchange (MDEX), Cantor Exchange (Cantor), segments of the motion picture industry and other interested parties.
The meeting will be open to the public and will be webcast via the internet. In addition, audio of the meeting will be available via a listen-only conference call.
