CFTC to Hold Open Meeting to Consider Two Proposed Rules under Dodd-Frank Act

Commission places additional item on agenda for September 8, 2011 meeting

Washington, DC – The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 9:30 a.m., to consider proposed rulemakings under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act on the following topics:

(1) Documentation and Margining (further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking), and

(2) Mandatory Clearing and Trading Implementation (NPRM).

In addition, the Commission will discuss and vote on approving an International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) report: Principles for the Regulation and Supervision of Commodity Derivatives Markets.

The Meeting will be open to the public.
