CFTC Recognized for Fiscal Accountability and Transparency
Washington, DC — The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced it earned the Association of Government Accountants Certificate of Excellence in Accountability Reporting (CEAR) award for the CFTC’s 2010 Performance and Accountability Report.
The CEAR Board also awarded the CFTC a “Best in Class Award” for its analysis of financial position and results.
The CEAR is awarded to federal government entities whose accountability reporting achieves the highest standards of clarity in communicating financial information and demonstrating accountability.
“The CFTC is committed to transparent and reliable accountability reporting. Receiving this prestigious award for a fifth year in a row is an honor and recognizes the dedication, teamwork and collaboration of the CFTC’s talented staff,” CFTC Chairman Gary Gensler said.
The CFTC was one of 18 federal agencies to receive the CEAR award in 2011. The award ceremony was held at the Washington, DC, Press Club on May 25, 2010.
