U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Files and Settles Charges Against Rosenthal Collins Group

Government Charges that Futures Commission Merchant Failed to Produce Trading Cards

Washington, D.C.— The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced the issuance of an order filing and simultaneously settling charges against Rosenthal Collins Group (RCG), a registered futures commission merchant (FCM) based in Chicago, Illinois, for failing to collect trading cards from a floor broker on a timely basis and failing to produce trading records to the CFTC upon request.

The CFTC order finds that RCG failed to routinely collect trading cards from a floor broker in a timely fashion, and, that during the course of a CFTC investigation, RCG failed to produce trading cards of that floor broker to the CFTC.

Specifically, the order finds that the Division of Enforcement issued document requests to RCG to produce trading cards, records that FCMs are required to maintain and produce upon request. RCG was unable to produce 49 of the requested trading cards.

The CFTC order requires, among other sanctions, that RCG pay a $25,000 civil monetary penalty.
