Chairman Behnam Announces Agricultural Advisory Committee Meeting and Releases Agenda
March 31, 2023
Washington, D.C. — Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Rostin Behnam today announced the Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) will hold a public meeting on April 5 to discuss topics related to the agricultural economy—including geopolitical and sustainability issues, as well as recent developments in the agricultural derivatives markets. Chairman Behnam serves as sponsor of the AAC.
“Agricultural markets continue to demonstrate agility in adapting to geo-political tensions, extreme weather, and technology advancements and disruptions. I am committed to ensuring the derivatives markets, structures, and intermediaries that serve them continue to effectively and efficiently support the evolving needs and risk management practices throughout the agricultural value and supply chains. I look forward to hearing from the AAC members and the agriculture community on these important issues affecting our markets,” said Chairman Behnam.
