Commissioner Jill E. Sommers’ Concurrence in the Matter of Gelber Group LLC and Martin A. Lorenzen

I applaud the Division of Enforcement (“DOE”) for bringing this case against Gelber and its former employee Lorenzen and I concur with the recommendation put forth by the DOE. However, given that there were other individuals engaged in the conduct at issue, I must state my firm belief that taking aggressive action against all individuals engaged in violations of the Act and Regulations is the best deterrent to breaches of our Act and Regulations. As Commissioner Chilton explains in his dissent, these are very serious violations of federal law and should be treated as such.
