Statement of Chairman Gary Gensler on Senate Banking Committee Passage of OTC Derivatives Regulatory Reform Legislation

Washington, DC - U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chairman Gary Gensler today commented on the Restoring American Financial Stability Act of 2010, passed by the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

Chairman Gensler said:

“Today’s vote by the Senate Banking Committee represents historic progress toward comprehensive regulatory reform of the over-the-counter derivatives marketplace. I look forward to building on this Committee’s hard work with Chairman Dodd, Chairman Lincoln and others in the House and Senate to complete legislation that promotes transparency and lowers risk in the entire OTC marketplace.”
